Richelle and I met at a space on West 29th Street in Manhattan to collaborate. We didn't have much of a plan. I knew that I wanted to shoot with projections, but I didn't even know what images I wanted to project. One of the great things about shooting in New York is there is imagery everywhere, so I was able to shoot several images on my phone between getting off of the subway and arriving at the space, including a few shots of some tile mosaics and a subway map down in the station. We turned on the projector, turned off the lights, and experimented with the textures and colours I had just captured on my phone.
