CHATTING WITH POP SUPERSTAR YELLE: NOSTALGIA, THE FUTURE & MONTREAL CONNECTIONS

THE SET UP
French party group Yelle released their second record <<Safari Disco Club>> earlier this year to rave reviews. Cut to a world tour that literally took them all over the world. Seriously. They rocked out all over the globe. Throw in their latest music video <<Comme un Enfant>> which was shot in our very own Montreal and hell, we knew we just had to speak with front woman & namesake Julie Budet.

Hi. Firstly, thank you. I want to begin with a Canadian connection: Montréal. You just released your latest music video for Comme Un Enfant and as I understand it you shot it in Montréal. You are certainly not a stranger to the city. Please share your thoughts on Montréal.

Montreal is a super cool city made of cool people. I immediately feel like being with friends there. It's also a great place to work, everything is easier than in France, people are really "into" things, they are not faking.

Please tell me about your collaboration with director Jérémie Saindon.

Jeremie has been in touch with Grand Marnier for more than 2 years now. Jeremie wanted to work with us, they started to skype together and love each other! We love his work too so we naturally decided to try something with him. Safari Disco Club and Que veux-tu were a great experience so we decided to do Comme un enfant with him again. GrandMarnier and Jeremie made Comme un enfant together and they could become a duo of directors someday!
