THE SADDEST LANDSCAPE RETURN FROM EUROPE, TALK RECORD FINDS AND STAYING POSITIVE

INTRODUCING THE SADDEST LANDSCAPE (ON GETTING BACK FROM EUROPE)
I am sitting in my living room catching up on email and listening to the rather large pile of records I acquired on tour. As for where we were on tour, it was a short tour with stops in Germany, Belgium, England, and Scotland.

You always seem to have really cool records (musically as well, tho we'll go with aesthetics for now) including a super cool Euro press just for this tour. I hear people are just gobbling them up. Tell me about your relationship with records. You guys must be record nerds at heart, right?

We are all total record nerds, and we are completely open about it, we collect records, endlessly shop for them, ignore our loved ones for them, go broke trying to get more..... as for the records we have released the physical product is always how the songs were intended to be heard, it is of course fine if you prefer digital means, but a great deal of care goes into the designing of the record, everything from the cover art, running order, all the way up to the vinyl colors was carfeully thought about. Ultimately we approach these things with the attitude of "what would I like if I was the one buying this", and with that in mind (and budget permitting) we make descions about how it will look. I am always disspointed when I get a record that say, has no insert, or has a shoddy cover; if a band can't be bothered to care about how their record looks why should I care to buy it? Nothing beats the satisfaction of listening to your favourite records on a well thought out vinyl version, with nice packaging and perfectly weighted/mastered vinyl.

Something cool that's happened to you in the past twelve hours?

Something cool from the past twelve hours, hmmm, it is tough because I worked all day, and now I am home so not a lot of favourite moments, I did however just confirm the release of a couple new records in the coming months, but I will just have to tease with that as for now the details will have to remain secret, but new records coming out are always cool to me. Also people have started sending in pictures and videos from the tour so it has been cool seeing those as a lot of the tour is still being processed and it is nice to remember it all that way.

Are you optimistic about the future?

bbb

Very much so, we are very excited to get out there and promote << After the Lights >>, we are on a solid label run by some great people and home to some awesome bands. We also have some exciting projects/tours in the works for 2012 that we have been wanting to do for quite some time, and a lot of our favourite bands have new stuff in the works as well so it all looks sunny and bright, well as much as it can for someone who plays in a band like ours.
