IN HER OWN WORDS.

"Focus on what's important" -- Words to live by? What's important to you, Rebecca?

k

Certainly, you must push out the negative in your life and grasp onto what you find important and what it is you care about. The minor things: will you care about them this time next year? To me it is the environment and the world around us. There is so much suffering happening across the world and it makes me sad to think we created most of it, a lot of us don't even care. That's important to me - if people take anything from me I wish for them to take these values and use them in any way they seem fit.

Favourite shark movie: --Before you answer that, can I just pitch --Sharkwater--? Have you seen it?

k

My favourite shark movie will always be --Jaws-- because that's when I started my shark love affair. However, --Sharkwater-- has a HUGE place in my heart. That documentary is so unbelievably beautiful. Rob Stewart captures the devastation that is happening in the shark community yet shows so much passion and beauty, I hope people will always take the time to watch it and share it and help, even if it is a small contribution, in any way, just help…spread the word at least. It's worthy and then some. Rob Stewart is truly amazing, I'd love to meet him.

Let's get a little into your interest in sharks and marine life. Where did that interest come from?

k

When I was younger and would be a little terror - to quieten me down rather than putting on a cartoon my parents would put a shark documentary on and I was sucked in… dazed over! I was fascinated with the world underwater that being mainly sharks. I think living in Hong Kong when I was younger had a big part in my love, we would snorkel a lot and visit neighbouring islands, camping with the marine life. Cornwall in England helped too - I ended up studying Marine Biology there.

I kinda get obsessed with things that people see as a monster and taking it for all its beauty.

Let me get this straight... model, shark enthusiast, activist, aaaand a Have Heart fan!? That's awesome! Tell me more about that!

k

What is there to say? I have an affinity with lyrics. Have Heart make great music and I like the words he strings together. My side rib tattoo is actually taken from a Have Heart song.

"In the coldest world, with the warmest heart."

Simple and perfect.

Okay, let's get back to modeling. You recently had a really cool shoot with Paul Reiffer. Was it a challenge doing such an intimate shoot? What was that experience like?

k

I really wanted to do that shoot as it was something I hadn't done before and was completely out of the style I would normally take or do. It was extremely comfortable and I had fun - I was actually really ill that day with food poisoning but I hate to let people down so we went on. I just wanted to try something completely different.

Are you optimistic about the future?

k

The future. I try my hardest to live for now and take everyday as it comes. The future is what we make of now. However, I want to further my love for Marine life and Zoological aspects - try to help any way I can. Before I fall head over heels in love with that side of my life I will model and continue meeting lovely people and seeing the world whilst exploring myself along the way. I'd like to meet lots of compassionate people and give Buddhism more of my time… I'm just a simple hippy.

THANK YOU. NEVER QUIT.
