INTRODUCING IRA CHERNOVA (ON CONNECTING WITH MODELS)
I started as a photographer and after began with some self portraits to better understand light, angles etc on my own example. After having many shoots as a model I assume it maybe made me more tough to my models sometimes, as I expect only the hard work. I don't know if it sounds well, but my point is I love to shoot, so I want only the best results.

Ira Chernova, it's a pleasure. From portraits, to urban settings to music. What do you hope to capture through your photography?

Hey. Pleasure to me too.
Regular stuff, my own life. The photography is the only thing I've found for myself at the moment that makes me not restless or sad. I am way too into that, so I wanna show as much as I can, or maybe more.

You're more than a bit of a traveler. Are you in Moscow now? What is your connection with city you're currently in?

Yep, for two more weeks. Back to NYC after that. Moscow is nothing but just a hometown.

I want to speak with you about --the video you directed-- featuring Anna Burdina. What challenges did you face and what did you ultimately take away from that project?

It was just a random idea to do that instead of [the] shoot we planned. What can I say, it was 6am, end of spring; my fav time to shoot. Switching to filming is quite an idea for many photographers. At some point I want to put [my] work in that direction, but it's gonna take time, I'm more involved with static at the moment. .

Are you optimistic about the future?

No, not really. I'm quite a darkish person. But I love to work, have plans and reaching them. So, it's not much about optimism for me, just dig the way to what you wanna be.
