EAST COAST MUSIC AWARDS '11 RECAP If you've been following me INTERNETICALLY at all, ever you may have come to notice that I enjoy taking in music festivals. Typically this involves a drive over the most expensive bridge ever but thankfully ECMA Week was happening on Charlottetown soil this year. Which means that I am two blocks away from music at any given moment and that makes me happy. Since I am currently working on several events I decided to do something I never normally do - pace myself. Planning for weeks and stressing over details is both a blessing and a curse for me but keeping it breezy was the name of the game this time around. And in my opinion it couldn't have worked out better. Stopping to smell the roses enabled me to see so many acts I had the misfortune of missing in the past, and some which I never thought I would enjoy in the first place. The week was great, from beginning to end. Once it was over, I was actually SAD it was over. Usually I am scrambling to get home and pet my cats, but I'm still going through event withdrawal and wish it could take place in my home city every year. It was another reaffirmation that ECMA Week is literally more about non-stop, exciting music than the Awards and that mentality is something I can get behind.
