EMANUELE FERRARI

Certainly photography and art in general are very challenging activities. They are a way to get involved with yourself but also with others. It is not always easy. The risk of not being understood is always lurking. Where can I find trust? Perhaps the fact of not having it, or rather in believing strongly in what I do. I know that every time is a new challenge; a point of departure and not of arrival. --The photography is challenging because of it.

There are no women to give added value to my shootings, but the idea that each of them expresses. Every woman is not just what appears but it's what she said through her image. A woman is beauty, but also happiness... a woman is beauty, but also torment... a woman is beauty, but also fear...

I think for athletes preparation is a different matter. In their performance, the technical part and a whole series of rituals are key to achieving a result. In the picture, at least for me, the prevailing element is instinctive spontaneity. The projects comes from unexpected ideas, often without any real foundation, and come to life in time, enriched with real elements... and in so doing become something concrete. I do not deny that in my area there are more than the quirks of the elements that are repeated... A certain music, a given location, the make-up artist rather than another... And above all, the mind free to concentrate on the photography project that I am going to implement; the right soundtrack and the perfect mood to make the most of it.

One of the most challenging aspects of my work but one that I am truly grateful for is: Always finding a new idea with which to confront and tell best through the images, always trying to find a model that is able to express it in the best way.

I have a specific style in clothes: I like street wear, the casual look and the sporty set. If it's an editorial designed by me and not commissioned to follow one of these trends that I love and that I bring out the natural beauty of the models. One of the most successful looks? I think all those made with my model / muse Valentina Pegorer. With her, I am sure that the match dress/model is absolutely perfect.

Sure, I'm optimistic about the future. In life, as in the photograph, the best things are yet to come.

The end of civilization will be caused by: The waivering of dreams and fantasies. Today's world needs to believe in something more special... More or less achievable... But the important thing is to always have something to channel their energy... Just so people will be happy and will have less time to destroy themselves and others.
