INTRODUCING DAMIEN ""ELROY"" VIGNAUX (ALWAYS CREATING)
Damien "Elroy" Vignaux is a French born artist residing in Berlin, Germany. Art director, motion director, photographer, designer. His thirst for artistic expression is awe-inspiring. His creations are mind-blowing.

Damien, it's a pleasure. From afar you appear to be involved in just about everything you can. From photography, to direction, to design, to music. Do you consider artistic creation as something that is essential to your life? Are you able to go a day without creating?



I just need to keep working on creative stuff, I'm easily bored when I don't experiment!

Perhaps above all you're a story teller. Would you agree? What first attracted you to telling stories?



Maybe because I studied cinema and so on, I always see shoots as sequences, I like the cinema frame and I like that people can project stories and emotion, that's also why I always prefer editorials rather than studio stuff.

Tell us about the influence Berlin has had on not only your artistic ambitions, but specifically your photography. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you weren't particularly active in photography until you moved to Berlin and became exposed to the scene there, is that correct?



It was never my ambition to be a fashion photographer, I always loved shooting and do lab stuff but since I'm here I got lucky enough to network with amazing agencies, stylists and make up artists. It's pretty inspiring, so I kept pushing my work and finally got publication offers. Now I'm also art directing a fashion magazine called BLONDE.

Can you introduce us to CINÉMA? The first issue s available on your --website--. What can we expect?



I wanted to publish my own journal so that I can get the directions I want. I will try to edit one every 6 months or so. I choose a concept or a theme that Iexplore with five or six different models and run it this way. Could also be about specific collaborations, meeting a make up artist or a stylist.

It's 2012. I have to ask... Are you optimistic about the future?
