DYLAN ROSE

I have an interesting relationship with confidence. It most definitely didn't and doesn't come naturally to me, but I have always admired those who fearlessly do what they love regardless of outside influence. I think there is beauty in strategically not giving a fuck. I don't necessarily have a complete vision, in fact it develops and changes every day. What gives me confidence is the fact that I can create what I want. I am not limited to one style, or even one medium. I love drawing inspiration from everywhere.

Let's be honest, women rule the world (laughing). No, but really, I believe 100% that the future is female. I think there's a lot of power held behind the image of the female form.

Before shooting I always, always, always, create a moodboard of various reference images that help establish the general visual language for the shoot. That way everybody is on the same page and knows what to expect going into it; that is key. During the shoot, atmosphere is everything. The vibe mid-shoot is just as important as the planning process. When everyone feels comfortable and is on the same page, they do their best work and have the confidence to be themselves which, for me, is really what I want to capture.

For the most part [finding people to collaborate with] is fairly random. As you live and work and meet new people, you start to gain inspiration from people, places, and things you would have never expected. Sometime's we will have a certain aesthetic planned for a shoot, and once we're on location another starts to form.

I would say my taste as far as fashion styling is most heavily influenced by 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's fashion. I'm a sucker for denim, turtlenecks, and leather jackets.

One of the most challenging aspects of my work but one that I am truly grateful for is having to come up with new and innovative ways to illustrate a client's vision. It can be difficult to shoot or design something in a way that is received authentically, but it forces me to think outside the box and get creative.

Couldn't be more optimistic. If I learned anything in 2017, it's that you have the power to be who you want in life so long as you're willing to put in the work.

The end of civilization will be caused by: When dogs are gone, there's basically no more hope for civilization as we know it. .
