Maybe, maybe not, ideally it would be nice to be in a place where nostalgia was accurate! But I think it is nice not to live toooo much in reality.

Your photos are so captivating, but I was particularly drawn to your self portraits. I swear, if they weren't entitled << Self >> would have surely been fooled into thinking they were photos of different people. How important is variety to you?



Thank you! Well, I think variety is not important but just inevitable. I find it odd that people would just want to be one way, as if their personality is just one thing. We feel different emotions and moods and our views change so much in our lives. I think I try to look different in each image to project how I am feeling rather than simply taking a photo of what my face looks like. In a way, it's like becoming a character but I think each "character" still always reflects one part of me!

Can you give us some insights into the above photo?



(laughing) Quite an old photo, it's funny, I don't really like it at all now but I think other people enjoy it. It wasn't anything to be taken too seriously... I'd watched and read The Golden Compass (Northern Lights) which I thought was quite lovely and the people all had Totems which were animals which were always with them. People always call me Rabbit (probably the teeth and big feet.... haha) so I took this photo -- The film is really beautiful visually, so I was influenced by that.

Are you optimistic about the future?



Yes! Well, I barely barely think about the future, but I'm not worried about anything. I'm very happy and look forward to doing anything which will make me more happy!
