AMBER

Growing up, I was always extremely involved with playing sports and taking part in anything artistic or challenging. After I finished playing fast pitch, I really wanted to find a different activity that gave me the same feelings I had when I would play.  I found that with modeling, it actually gives the same recognition and excitement as playing fast pitch. It's an amazing feeling to practice, work together with photographers, perform, and seeing an amazing end result is just like making an amazing catch but in my opinion it's better. When I am not modeling, I work and spend most of my time with family and friends. I also love to paint in my free time.

I believe that confidence is something that was instilled in me at a young age. Growing up, it was taught to believe in yourself. There is no limit to what one person can do with confidence, belief, and working hard to achieve a goal. There are times when things don't always work out the way you had hoped. It's normal to not always feel 100% but to build myself back up I try to stay active as much as possible while also staying involved with positive people and activities.

When I first started modeling, I was excited for the opportunity but I definitely was not fully comfortable in front of the camera or in my own skin. The first photographer that I shot with is the reason why I continued to pursue modeling. He built me up with confidence and told me that he saw something in me and that I had a great look. The second photographer I shot with I was nervous and he had a different style and I ended up telling him that I didn't know what I was doing and thankfully he was extremely nice about it. But from there, I continued to pursue and grow over time feeling more and more comfortable. Now, I feel like it's just second nature being in front of the camera. I try to show off different features with each shoot to have a variety rather than one style and look. I really enjoy fitting into each photographers' style rather than the photographer capturing me with the same look. I try to be as versatile as possible because that's what makes it interesting for me.

When it comes to wardrobe and deciding what to wear, I always try to match the photographers' style rather than bringing an outfit for him to capture my style. I really see photography and modeling similar to a painting; The photographer is painting the scenery and I am the piece that fits into the vision that we both are trying to capture. I love change as much as possible so I try to change up what I am wearing and my look as often as I can. I would have to say the most memorable outfit that I have worn was an amazing red dress that was designed by Victoria Cocieru. It was memorable because not only was it absolutely gorgeous but she specifically wanted me to model the piece and that meant so much to me.

Personally, the most challenging aspect of modeling is having confidence when you are shooting with a photographer that is experienced and one that you admire their work. For some reason, the photographers that are "amazing" in my eyes intimidate me slightly more. I always want them to like not only me but how well I can work with them. This is a challenge that I am also very grateful for because when an amazing photographer compliments me on my look or skill, it truly is the best feeling. That moment where I am recognized by a talented artist means so much to me; That is what makes modeling so fulfilling. --The feeling I get when I am complimented for something that I have worked hard for and hearing that I did a great job from someone who is practically the best in my eyes.

I would say that I am optimistic about my future. There are many things that I never would have thought to be possible in my life that I have accomplished over the past six years. Having the mindset that I am capable of achieving any goal to become "great" really helps my optimism. I believe that to be great you have to have drive and work hard practicing what you are working towards day in and day out. It really is when you want something so bad that you never stop thinking about it. To become great, you have to never give up. Even when no one else believes in you, keep pushing and working harder and harder to become better and to become the best. I believe that anyone can do anything that they put their mind to no matter what other people say. It's just all about the passion and drive to keep pushing on. I think as a community, we can make the future bright by also adding more love, peace, and positivity into the world to make a brighter future.

The end of civilzation will be caused by: Who knows... but hopefully I won't be around to see it. (laughing)
